Update: Police Continue to Investigate Homicide

Detectives from Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division are continuing to investigate the homicide on an adult male in the Bel Pre area that was reported on January 25.

Today, detectives are stating that based on evidence at the scene, they do not believe this homicide was random but do believe the victim and      suspect(s) may have known each other or had some previous association.

At approximately 12:35 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received a call from a passerby who reported that a person appeared to be slumped over the wheel of a vehicle that was parked in an apartment complex lot located at Whispering Pines Drive and Weeping Willow Court.

Officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the area and located a deceased adult male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle; he appeared to have been shot.

The victim has been identified as Wei Wu, age 46, of the 400 block of K Street NW in Washington, D.C. The Medical Examiner has ruled that the cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds and that the manner of death is homicide.
