Detectives from the Major Crimes-Homicide Section have continued to investigate a homicide that occurred December 7, 2012, in White Oak. Today, two suspects were arrested for their roles in this crime.
Imani Cook, age 26, of the 11400 block of July Drive in White Oak, has been charged with murder, robbery, and accessory to murder.
Steven Webster, age 26, of the 13000 block of Old Stage Coach Road in Laurel, has been charged with murder, robbery, first degree assault, and conspiracy to commit murder.
The third suspect has been identified and is currently facing unrelated charges in another jurisdiction. Charges from this crime in Montgomery County are pending.
The detectives’ investigation revealed that Jesse Campos, the victim, resided in the same apartment complex as Cook. In charging documents, Cook identified Campos as her “weed dealer.” Cook claims that Campos had accepted a loan from her which was still outstanding. Cook relayed this information to a friend who has been identified as the third suspect. On December 7, 2012, in the 11400 block of July Drive, Steven Webster and the third suspect, both armed with handguns, entered Campos’ apartment. Jesse Campos was shot and items taken from the apartment. He succumbed to his injuries.
