Germantown Teen Charged with Attempted Murder

For Immediate Release: Friday, March 13, 2015

Detectives from the 5th District Investigative Section have been investigating the March 9 call to 9-1-1 by a witness to a shooting in  the area of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown.  Today investigators arrested Marvin Frazier, 15 years old, of Whitechurch Circle in Germantown, with that shooting.  He is being charged as an adult.

On March 9 at approximately 11:14 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the 19600 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.  They were unable to locate a victim or evidence of a shooting but interviewed witnesses who had heard two or three gunshots.

On March 10, a middle school student was arrested for possessing a knife on school property.  Circumstances surrounding that arrest provided investigators with information that a 16-year-old male victim had been shot at during the March 9 incident on Crystal Rock Drive.  Detectives were able to identify both the suspect and the victim and determine that the victim and suspect (Frazier) were known to each other.

Frazier was arrested this morning at his residence.  The firearm has not been recovered.

Marvin Frazier has been charged with one count of attempted 1st degree murder and one count of 1st degree assault.  Bond review has been scheduled for Monday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m., in Rockville District Court.

Note: Although Marvin Frazier has been charged as an adult, MCP does not release photographs of juvenile defendants.
