Detectives Investigate Rite Aid Robbery in Silver Spring-Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division are investigating a commercial robbery that occurred in Silver Spring.

On February 23 at approximately 2:49 a.m., two suspects entered Rite Aid located at 1411 East West Highway.  One suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at a clerk and a customer.  The second suspect demanded money from the registers and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash.  Both suspects were last seen fleeing the store.

The first suspect is described as a black male, between the ages of 20-25 years, 5’10” to 6’-0” tall, and having a thin build. He was last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans, a black hooded jacket, and a black ski mask.

The second suspect is described as an unknown race male, between the ages of 20-25 years, 5’10” to 6’00” tall, and having a thin build.  He was last seen wearing black sneakers with white trim, gray sweatpants, green camouflage jacket, a blue bandana over his mouth, and a red and white Santa hat.  He was carrying a black bag with white writing.
