Detectives from the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate an attempted bank robbery that occurred in Silver Spring on Thursday, March 12. Today, detectives are releasing photographs of the two suspects and are asking for the public's help to identify them.
On March 12 at approximately 4:56 p.m., officers responded to the Capital One bank located at 11241 Georgia Avenue for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred.
Investigators have determined that the first suspect entered the bank, stood inside for a moment, and then exited. The second suspect then entered the bank and approached a teller. The suspect passed a note that demanded money and also implied that the suspect had some type of explosive device. The suspect did not obtain any money and fled from the bank.
During the robbery, the first suspect stood outside of the bank and served as a lookout.
