Police Continue Search for Woman with Dementia - Montgomery Village Woman Still Missing

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section are continuing their search for Maria Quintanilla, a 73-year-old Montgomery Village woman who suffers from dementia.

Today, officers from the 6th District, with the assistance of  mounted units from the Maryland-National Capital Park Police Department and K-9 officers from the Rockville City Police Department, continue to search for Maria Quintanilla in the Montgomery Village area.  Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Mrs. Quintanilla may have boarded a Ride-on or Metro bus and may be disoriented.  Family members have told police that in the past, she has become confused while using mass transit.  Detectives believe that Mrs. Quintanilla may now be outside the Montgomery Village area.

Early this morning, Mrs. Quintanilla, of the 9800 block of Walkers House Road in Montgomery Village was reported missing by family.  She was last seen at her home on Friday, March 27, at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Maria Quintanilla is described as a Hispanic female, 5' 5? tall and weighing 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and shoulder length gray hair.  At the time of her disappearance she was wearing a blue dress and black shoes. Mrs. Quintanilla is believed to be on foot and is known to frequent the area of Montgomery Village Avenue.  Again, she is familiar with public transportation and could have traveled to other areas served by the mass transit system.
