Detectives Investigate Serious Pedestrian Collision in Germantown

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred today in Germantown.

At approximately 1:27 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire/Rescue personnel responded for the report of a pedestrian struck on Germantown Road near Wisteria Drive.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation has revealed that a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Monica Stubbing of Cottage Garden Drive in Germantown, was traveling northbound on Germantown Road. At the same time, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street although there was no marked crosswalk in the area. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The striking vehicle remained at the scene.

The identification of the pedestrian will be released once family members are notified.
