Fatal Spencerville Collision Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision that occurred  in Spencerville.

On Monday, April 6 at approximately 4:57 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to Spencerville Road, west of Peach Orchard Road for a personal injury collision involving a motorcycle and large truck designed for hauling refuse.  Arriving units confirmed that a male subject involved in the collision had succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased male was riding a motorized dirt bike in the yard of 2301 Spencerville Road.  For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle left the yard and entered the roadway.  The motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the truck which was traveling eastbound on Spencerville Road.  The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased.  He was not wearing a helmet.

The operator of the motorcycle is being identified as Toure Philip Kelley, 26 years old, of the 1400 block of Spencerville Road in Spencerville.  

The driver of the truck is identified as Thawng Sian Mung, 47 years old, of the 42600 block of Frontier Drive in Ashburn, Virginia.
