Detectives Make Arrest in Sexual Assault that Occurred in Rockville

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Detectives from Montgomery County Police-Special Victims Investigations Division have arrested Warren Matthew Giddings for a sexual assault of a 20 year-old female that occurred in February of this year in Rockville.  Detectives believe there may be others who have not come forward after being assaulted by Giddings.

In February, detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division began investigating a sexual assault of a vulnerable adult who has cognitive learning disabilities.  The victim and Giddings met through an online dating website.  After several online and text message exchanges, they agreed to meet at the victim’s residence. During this meeting, the victim was sexually assaulted.  As Giddings left the victim’s residence, he stole the victim’s tablet computer.

Giddings, age 23, of the 11900 block of Castle Pines Way in Waldorf, has been charged with three counts of First Degree Sexual Assault, three counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault, 3 counts of Vulnerable Adult Abuse, and Theft under $1,000.  He is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.

Detectives are asking anyone who believes she may be a victim of inappropriate contact by Giddings or anyone who has additional information to contact Montgomery County Police-Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050.
