Suspect Charged For Maintaining His Residence For Drug Distribution

For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 30, 2015

The 4th District Community Services Unit has arrested and charged Idrissa Turay, age 56, of the 3800 block of Dunsinane Drive, with keeping and maintaining a common nuisance: his home, for the illegal distribution of marijuana.

Turay is the owner and a resident of his home on Dunsinane Drive.  For the last several years, multiple police investigations have resulted in arrests of residents at his home for drug-related crimes to include possession and distribution of illegal drugs.

The Department has also received complaints from residents in that neighborhood that people at Turay’s home are selling drugs from the residence and are selling drugs in the parking lots and streets of the community.

Plain clothes officers have also observed drug transactions by residents of that home in the community and have arrested those residents for those offenses.  Search warrants executed at that home during drug-related investigations have revealed evidence of the crime of drug distribution. This evidence has included drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

On April 22, officers obtained a warrant for Turay’s arrest for maintaining a common nuisance.  He was arrested yesterday and transported to the Central Processing Unit.
