Montgomery County Law Enforcement Agencies Collect 530 Pounds of Pills on Drug-Take Back Day

On Saturday, May 2, the Montgomery County Police Department, the Chevy Chase Village Police Department, the Gaithersburg Police Department, and the Takoma Park Police Department conducted a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day at multiple locations.

These law enforcement agencies collected approximately 530 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs.

Unused prescription medications in homes create a public health and safety concern, because they can be accidentally ingested, stolen, misused, and abused.
