Muncaster Mill Road Fatal Collision Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles that occurred late on Sunday, May 31 on Muncaster Mill Road in the Rockville area.

Last night at approximately 11:27 p.m., 6th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to Muncaster Mill Road, just north of Bowie Mill Road, for a serious personal injury collision.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2014 Ford Focus, driven by an adult male was traveling southbound on Muncaster Mill Road, south of Olde Mill Run.  For reasons still under investigation, the black Ford Focus and a white Ford Taurus, traveling north and operated by an adult female, collided.

The adult female driving the Taurus succumbed to her injuries on the scene of the crash.  The driver of the black Ford Focus was transported to Suburban Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He is being identified as Juan Francisco Diana, 34 years old, of the 3000 block of Aquarius Avenue in Silver Spring.

The identity of the other driver will be released when family has been notified.
