On May 8, a 17- year- old male victim reported that he had been robbed at gunpoint by three black males while riding in an elevator at the Shady Grove Metro station. Investigation and surveillance video shows that at approximately 5:25 p.m., the victim and three suspects enter an elevator at the Shady Grove station. One suspect is observed on video retrieving a silver handgun from the backpack of another suspect and pointing it at the victim. The suspect with the backpack is then observed removing property from the victim. The three suspects then exit the elevator and the victim remains in the elevator.
The three suspects are described as follows:
The suspect with the handgun is described as a black male, approximately 17-20 years of age, 6’ and weighing approximately 170 pounds. This suspect was wearing a red hat and a purple t-shirt with the words “I Love DC” across the front.
The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 17-20 years of age, 5’10” in height with a thin build. This suspect was wearing a gray shirt and a teal backpack that concealed the handgun used during the robbery.
The third suspect is described as a black male, approximately 17-20 years of age, 6’5” in height with a thin build. This suspect was wearing a black t-shirt and sunglasses during the robbery.
