Gaithersburg Fatal Collision Investigated

For Immediate Release: Saturday, June 27, 2015

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred today in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 4:34 p.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the area of Shady Grove Road at Epsilon Drive for the report of a collision. Preliminary investigation indicates that a green Toyota mini-van was traveling north on Shady Grove Road when for reasons still under investigation, it collided with a tan Toyota Camry that was traveling west from Tupelo Drive, crossing Shady Grove Road where Tupelo Drive becomes Epsilon Drive. Despite life-saving measures attempted by Fire and Rescue personnel, the driver of the Toyota Camry succumbed to her injuries.

The identities of the drivers will be released when family has been notified.
