UPDATE: Names Released in Fatal Collision in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on June 27 on Shady Road in Gaithersburg. The persons involved in the collision are now being identified.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a blue Toyota mini-van was traveling north on Shady Grove Road when for reasons under investigation, it collided with a tan Toyota Camry that was traveling west from Tupelo Drive, crossing Shady Grove Road where Tupelo Drive becomes Epsilon Drive.

The driver of the tan Toyota Camry succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She is being identified as Gerilynne Seigneur, age 61, of the 16300 block of Grande Vista Drive in Rockville.

The driver of the blue mini-van is being identified as Ulices Chavez, age 22, of the 11600 block of Queen Nicole Terrace in Germantown. Ulices was not injured and was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
