Police Investigate Single Vehicle Fatal Collision in Clarksburg

Detectives from Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a single vehicle, single- occupant fatal collision that occurred in the 26600 block of Clarksburg Road.

On July 28 at approximately 9:24 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a call for a single-vehicle collision that had just occurred.  The preliminary investigation indicates that for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle, a 2007 Ford Fusion, lost control and collided with a utility pole.  Despite life-saving efforts, the driver, identified as Richard Pliszak, age 54, of the 4500 block of Roop Road in Mount Airy, Maryland, succumbed to his injuries.
