Suspect Wanted for Two Bank Robberies; Crime Solvers Reward for Information

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department and Takoma Park Police Department are investigating two bank robberies believed to have been committed by the same suspect.  Investigators are releasing surveillance photographs and video of the suspect and are asking for the public's help to identify him.

On July 30 at approximately 1:50 p.m., the suspect robbed the SunTrust Bank located at 12052 Cherry Hill Road in Silver Spring.  On August 6 at approximately 11:52 a.m., the suspect robbed the Capital One Bank located at 1181 University Boulevard East in Takoma Park.  In both robberies, he approached the teller, passed a note that demanded money, and implied that he had a weapon.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery suspect is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.  Tipsters may also call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of this suspect.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.
