Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Theft Suspects

Officers from the Montgomery County Police – 2nd District are asking the public for help to identify a person of interest in two thefts from the designer sunglass and eyeglass store “ILORI” in Friendship Heights.

On July 1, at approximately 8:00 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the “ILORI” store located at 5330 Western Avenue in Friendship Heights for the report of a theft. The investigation revealed that a male and female suspect entered the store, distracted an employee, and stole sunglasses. Both suspects then fled the store.

On August 10, at approximately 6:34 p.m., the same male suspect from the July 1 incident entered the store and was immediately recognized by a store employee as having committed the prior theft. The suspect stole sunglasses from a display near the front door and fled while the employee was calling 9-1-1.

The male suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” tall and weighing 180 pounds. At the time of the August 10 theft, he was wearing a blue shirt with writing on the front, blue jeans, and a black hat on backwards. He also had white ear buds around his neck. The female suspect from the July 1 theft is described as a black female with short blonde hair. She was wearing a denim shirt, denim shorts and black sandals.
