Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a homicide that occurred last night near the intersection of Veirs Mill and Randolph Roads.
On Sunday, August 30, at approximately 9:12 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received a call for an unresponsive male subject in the service lane in front 12232 Veirs Mill Road. Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and located a Hispanic male victim in his early twenties in the roadway suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim is being identified as Jose Miguel Henriquez Alfaro, 22 years old of the 12800 block of Parkland Drive in Rockville.
Preliminary investigation indicates Alfaro was assaulted with a weapon in a confrontation with multiple suspects on Veirs Mill Road. The suspects fled from the area on foot after Alfaro was stabbed. A road construction crew working on Veirs Mill Road observed Alfaro in the street and called 9-1-1.
On August 31, The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) ruled Alfaro’s death a homicide.
