Detectives Investigate Shooting in Silver Spring

Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating a shooting of two adult males that occurred this evening in Silver Spring.

At approximately 9:32 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 900 block of University Boulevard East for the report of a shooting. One victim was transported to an area hospital with an apparent gun shot wound to the abdomen that is considered non life-threatening. The other victim had an apparent minor gun shot wound to his arm and refused medical treatment on the scene. The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties and was wearing a white t-shirt.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect and the 40-year-old and 25-year-old victims are acquaintances. The victims invited the suspect to a home where an argument ensued in an open area to the rear of the house. The suspect shot the victims and fled from the area after the shooting.
