Update: Four Juveniles Arrested for July “Pack Style” Robbery; Warrants for Two Suspects

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section have been investigating a robbery that occurred on July 3 at Bloomingdale’s located at 5300 Western Avenue. During this robbery, the six suspects stole items from the store and then assaulted loss prevention officers to prevent apprehension.

Detectives arrested of four juveniles and have charged them as adults for their involvement in this robbery. Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for an adult and a juvenile in this case and are attempting to locate them.

On July 3 at approximately 4:57 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to Bloomingdale’s for the report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that two males and four females entered the store, concealed merchandise, and attempted to leave without paying. The suspects pepper sprayed and assaulted the loss prevention officers when they tried to detain the suspects for the thefts.

Detectives have arrested the following four juveniles and have charged them as adults:

Germaine Johnson, age 17, of an unconfirmed address, is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and theft $1,000 to under $10,000. Johnson is currently in custody in Washington D.C. and is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.

Ahmaad Mattocks, age 17, of the 2300 block of High Street in Washington, D.C., is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and theft between $1,000 to under $10,000. Mattocks has been extradited to Montgomery County and is currently being held on an $85,000 bond.

Chyna Crawford, age 17, of the 1800 block of 29th Street in Washington, D.C., is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and theft $1,000 to under $10,000. Crawford is currently in custody in Washington D.C. and is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.

Tarjenay Edwards, age 16, of the 2300 block of 18th Street in Washington, D.C., is charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and theft $1,000 to under $10,000. Edwards is currently in custody in Washington D.C. and is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging Tyler Muhammad, age 16, of the 3300 block of Curtis Drive in Suitland, as an adult for armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and theft $1,000 to under $10,000.

Detectives have also obtained an arrest warrant for Special Roper, age 18, of an unconfirmed address, charging her with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and theft $1,000 to under $10,000. Detectives are asking the public for help in locating Muhammed and Roper.

Detectives were able to identify Roper, Johnson, and Muhammed from tips received from social media and Crime Solvers and would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
