Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a commercial armed robbery in Wheaton. Today, detectives are releasing a surveillance photograph of the suspect.

On September 15 at approximately 8:30 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the Giant store located at 2900 University Boulevard West in Wheaton for the report of an armed robbery. The investigation revealed that the black male suspect stole approximately $100 worth of Tide laundry detergent from the store and when confronted by the manager, threatened him with a large knife. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot towards the area of University Boulevard West.

Anyone with information about this suspect or the robbery is asked to call the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.
