Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred earlier today in the Edgewood Neighborhood Park on Robey Road.
At approximately 4:43 p.m., the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received multiple calls for a shooting and the sound of shots fired in the Edgewood Neighborhood Park located at 13900 Robey Road in the Briggs Chaney area. Montgomery County and Maryland-National Capital Park police officers and Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the park and located a 22-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds; the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A suspect(s) was not located.
The victim’s name will be released once family members are notified.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.
