Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder

For Immediate Release: Monday, October 26, 2015

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Investigative Section have charged Bryan A. Jackson, age 25, of the unit block of Grinnell Court in Derwood, with attempted murder and assault.

On October 25 at approximately 6:27 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to Armory Avenue and Mitchell Street in Kensington for the report of a vehicle that struck an adult male pedestrian and fled from the area.

Investigation has revealed that Jackson was parked outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home and was waiting to drop off their children. During this time, Jackson observed the victim dropping off the ex-girlfriend at her residence. Detectives believe that at this point, Jackson began to follow the victim’s car. The victim, who had noticed that he was being followed, stopped his car at the intersection of Armory Avenue and Mitchell Street in Kensington. The victim exited his car and approached Jackson’s car to find out why he was being followed. Detectives learned that once the victim exited his car, Jackson drove forward and intentionally struck the victim with his vehicle. The impact with Jackson’s car caused the victim to roll over the hood and onto the pavement. Jackson then put his car in reverse and backed over him. Jackson then drove forward and struck the victim a third time causing the victim to become trapped underneath the vehicle. Jackson dragged the victim under his car for approximately 30 yards before the victim became free. Jackson then fled from the area in his car. The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jackson was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit where he was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, and one count of second-degree assault. Jackson is currently being held without bond.
