Update: Montgomery Village Death Ruled a Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the death of a 22-year-old man whose body was discovered on November 2 in Montgomery Village.  The death is now being investigated as a homicide.

Detectives are identifying the victim as Roberto Gutierrez Cruz, 22 years old, of the 18400 block of Lost Knife Road in Montgomery Village.

Today, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the manner of his death a homicide and the cause of his death as a gunshot wound.  Detectives believe that the homicide occurred at some point in the 48 hours prior to the discovery of the victim.

This remains an ongoing investigation and detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.
