Detectives Investigate Bank Robbery in Silver Spring – Police Ask For Public's Help To Identify Suspect

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on October 28 in Silver Spring.

On October 28 at approximately 3:40 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Capital One Bank located at 8315 Georgia Avenue for a report of a bank robbery. Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Today, detectives are releasing target="_blank"> surveillance video and photographs of the bank robbery suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
