Detectives Investigate Shooting in Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the shooting of a 47-year-old man that occurred last night in Silver Spring.

On November 5 at approximately 6:57 p.m., 3rd District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 9500 block of Clement Road for the report of a shooting. The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious condition with an apparent gunshot wound to the body. At this time, the victim is listed in stable condition and detectives will interview him today regarding the assault.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim answered his residence door and a confrontation took place between the victim and two male suspects at the front door. The victim stated that one of the suspects shot him and both suspects fled from the area. Investigators believe that this assault is not random. Detectives do not believe there is a danger to the community.
