Detectives Continue to Investigate Firearm Discharge in Gaithersburg

Detectives from the 6th District Investigative Section continue to investigate a firearm discharge that occurred on December 24 in Gaithersburg.

On Thursday, December 24, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the 6th District and the Gaithersburg Police Department, and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the McDonald's located at 469 Frederick Avenue for the report of a shooting.

First responders located evidence of a shooting inside of the McDonald's men's restroom. Officers in the area searched for suspect(s) and victim(s).  During this search, officers were notified that the adult male victim had arrived at a local hospital in a vehicle for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  Investigators have interviewed this victim.
