Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle Investigated in Spencerville

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist that occurred this afternoon in Spencerville.

At approximately 3:04 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 1400 block of Spencerville Road (Route 198) for the report of a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the 42-year-old male motorcyclist, was traveling east on Spencerville Road operating a silver, 2004 Yamaha YSF R6.  At the same time, a 26-year-old-female, was also traveling east, operating a 2014 Honda Civic. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicles collided.  The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The motorcyclist is being identified as Joe Odeh Dababneh, 42 years old, of the 800 block of Johnson Avenue in Silver Spring.  The operator of the Honda is being identified as Melodi Blayre Jacobs, 26 years old, of the 1400 block of Spencerville Road in Spencerville.
