Concern for Missing Derwood Woman and Her Child

UPDATE: February 6, 2016: Tynisha and Elijah Owens have been located safe and unharmed in South Carolina.  Thank you to the public and media for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Gaithersburg mother and her son.

Tynisha Rashon Owens, age 24, and her 11-month-old son, Elijah Owens, of the 6600 block of Garrett Road in Derwood, were last seen this morning at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tynisha Owens is described as a black female, 5’06” tall, 139 pounds, with black eyes and short black hair. Elijah Owens is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes. Tynisha Owens was last seen wearing a navy colored pea coat and black UGG boots.

Tynisha Owens functions at a 14-year-old level and police and family are concerned for her welfare and welfare of her son.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Tynisha Owens and Elijah Owens is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24 hour line).
