Detectives Continue to Investigate Serial Bank Robber - Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division, Robbery Section are investigating two bank robberies that are believed to have been committed by the same suspect. Today, detectives are releasing target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a surveillance video of the suspect at one of the bank robberies and are asking the public for help in identifying him.
On Saturday, February 13 at approximately 9:18 am, 2nd District officers responded to the armed robbery of the PNC bank at 10211 Old Georgetown Road. The suspect entered the bank, displayed a small handgun, and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he left the scene in an unknown direction.
A second bank robbery was dispatched at approximately 9:46 a.m. Officers from the 2nd District responded to the M&T bank located at 10420 Montgomery Avenue in Kensington. Investigators believe the suspect from the first robbery entered this bank, displayed a small handgun, and demanded cash from the teller. When a witness followed the suspect into a nearby parking lot, the suspect pointed his gun at the witness and the witness fled back to the bank.
Detectives also believe this suspect could be responsible for three other robberies that occurred on the following dates at the following locations:
January 27, 2012, M&T Bank, 10100 River Road, Bethesda
January 8, 2014, Capital One Bank, 7340 Westlake Terrace, Bethesda
December 9, 2014, M&T Bank, 10420 Montgomery Avenue, Kensington
The suspect is described as a white male and believed to be in his 40’s or 50’s. During the February 13, 2016 robberies, he was wearing a dark colored, zippered, hooded jacket. He concealed his face and wore gloves that were dark on the palm and light on the back. Under his jacket he was wearing a brown checkered dress-shirt, khaki pants, and brown dress shoes.

Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
