Police Investigate Reported Suspicious Situation in Chevy Chase

The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating the report of a suspicious situation in Chevy Chase.  On Friday, March 11 at approximately 6:43 a.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of Colston Drive in Chevy Chase for the report of a suspicious situation.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that two brothers, ages four-and-a-half and seven, were in their front yard when a vehicle, described as a blue or green, smaller sized sedan, stopped in front of the residence.  The male driver, described as having short gray hair and a beard, possibly in his 50s or 60s, rolled down the car window and told the boys that he would give them a ride to school as he motioned for them to come to the vehicle.

The Police Department has increased patrols in the area.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or any previous activity that might relate to this incident to please the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.  Police continue to urge anyone who observes suspicious behavior to call police.
