Tonight, officers from the Montgomery County Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint. This enforcement is a component of the Department’s continuing effort to curb impaired driving and underage drinking.
The exact location of the checkpoint will not be disclosed in advance. The checkpoint times are approximate and the checkpoint will be cancelled if there is inclement weather.

Sobriety Checkpoint Review The sobriety checkpoint was conducted in the area of University Boulevard E. at Seek Lane in Silver Spring from approximately 11:15 p.m. on April 8 until 2:15 a.m on April 9. Officers arrested 6 people for driving while impaired or under the influence of alcohol/drugs. The average blood alcohol content (BAC) for the arrested suspects was .14. Officers cited 6 people for having an open alcohol container in their vehicle. Officers arrested 3 people for being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
