Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train in Rockville

Update - May 5, 2016:  The pedestrian is identified as Marcus Alan Eubanks, age 39, of an unconfirmed address.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division are investigating the death of a 39-year-old male who was fatally struck by a train in Rockville.

Today at approximately 4:29 p.m., 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the report of a pedestrian who had been struck by an Amtrak passenger train on the tracks in the area of the 5700 block of Bou Avenue in Rockville.

The initial investigation has revealed that the victim was in the area of the tracks when, for reasons still under investigation, he was struck by a northbound Amtrak train. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the scene.  The victim’s identity will be released once family notifications have been made.
