Update: Theft Suspect Identified and Charged After Police Receive Tip from Public; 7-Eleven Employees and Police Make Good on Suspect’s Parting Retort

For Immediate Release: Friday, May 13, 2016

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 5th District Patrol Investigations Unit have charged Damien Carlton Fisher, age 23, of Jonesville Court in Poolesville, with theft after surveillance video showing him stealing items from a 7-Eleven in Germantown was made public.

On April 15, officers from the 5th District responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 13001 Wisteria Drive for the report of a theft. The investigation revealed that at approximately 12:15 a.m. that morning, Fisher entered the store and concealed items in his vest.  Fisher walked out of the store without paying for the items and as he left, stated to the store employee, “Take me to court.”

On April 25, detectives released a surveillance video of Fisher and asked for the public’s help to identify him.  On May 9, detectives received a tip which led to the identification of Fisher as the suspect.

On May 10, investigators obtained a District Court Summons charging Fisher with one count of theft less than $100.  Fisher is scheduled for a trial at the Montgomery County District Court in Rockville on June 9 at 8:00 a.m.
