Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 5th District Patrol Investigations Unit are asking the public for help to identify a suspect who committed a theft from a Wegmans grocery store in Germantown.
On April 24, 5th District officers responded to the Wegmans grocery store located at 20600 Seneca Meadows Parkway for the report of a theft that had occurred.
The investigation revealed that at approximately 1:15 p.m., the female victim was shopping in the Wegmans when her wallet was stolen out of her purse. The victim’s credit card was later used at the nearby Target store. Detectives obtained a surveillance photograph of the suspect from the Target. Investigators believe this suspect committed a similar offense at this same Wegmans on March 2, 2015. Detectives also have reason to believe this suspect committed similar offenses in Fairfax County, Virginia, Leesburg, Virginia, and Frederick, Maryland.
