Concern for Missing Derwood Area Man

For Immediate Release: Thursday, May 26, 2016

Detectives from the 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 41-year-old male.

Tibebe Shenkute, also known as Michael Johnson, age 41, of the 6100 block of Granby Road in the Derwood area of Rockville, was last seen leaving his home this afternoon at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Michael Johnson is described as a black male, 5’07” tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds, with short black hair, and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a dark sweater with a green T-shirt underneath.  Johnson is known to frequent the 18400 block of Azalea Drive in the Derwood area of Rockville and the Takoma Park area.

Police and family members are concerned for Johnson’s emotional and physical welfare.

Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Tibebe Shenkute (also known as Michael Johnson) is asked to call the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (available 24 hours). Callers may remain anonymous.
