Detectives Investigate Wheaton First-Degree Assault; Ask Anyone with Information to Come Forward

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating the first-degree assault of a 25-year-old man that occurred in the early morning hours of July 4 in Wheaton.

At approximately 1:02 a.m. on July 4, a person driving in the area of Judson Road and Henderson Avenue called 9-1-1 to report that he had observed an injured person lying on the ground in the area.

4^th District officers responded to the intersection and located the victim in the roadway, suffering from trauma to his body.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this assault to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
