Detectives Investigate Wheaton First-Degree Assault; Ask Anyone with Information to Come Forward

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating the first-degree assault of a 25-year-old man that occurred in the early morning hours of July 4 in Wheaton.

At approximately 1:02 a.m. on July 4, a person driving in the area of Judson Road and Henderson Avenue called 9-1-1 to report that he had observed an injured person lying on the ground in the area.

4th District officers responded to the intersection and located the victim in the roadway, suffering from trauma to his body.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have information regarding this assault to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect(s).
