Rockville Dollar Tree Store Armed Robbery Investigated

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division continue to investigate an armed robbery of a Dollar Tree store in Rockville.  Today, investigators are releasing a video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

On Tuesday, July 5 at approximately 9:15 p.m., 1st District officers responded for the report of an armed robbery at the Dollar Tree store located at 1776 East Jefferson Street in Rockville.

The investigation revealed that an adult female employee opened the door to a restroom in the rear of the store where she was confronted by the male suspect who was inside the restroom.  The suspect pointed a handgun at the employee, restrained her wrists, and used her keys to open the store’s office.  The suspect then used the victim’s keys to open the office’s safe and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled out the front of the store.

The suspect is described as black male in his 30s, approximately 5' 5? to 5’ 8” with a heavy build.  He was wearing a white fisherman’s style hat, black sunglasses, and a black mask that covered the lower part of his face.  The suspect was also wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and dark colored pants.
