Update: Suspicious Death in Wheaton Ruled a Homicide

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section are investigating the suspicious death of 72-year-old Linda Cheryl Johnston whose body was located in her residence on Arcola Avenue in the late afternoon hours of August 3. On August 4, the Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore ruled the manner of death to be a homicide.

On August 3 at approximately 4:19 p.m., officers from the 4th District responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Arcola Avenue in Wheaton for the report of a suspicious situation.  First responders entered the residence and located the deceased victim in her home; there was evidence of trauma to her body.

Additional information will be released as it can be confirmed.
