The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) continues its death investigation following a fatal fire that occurred at apartment buildings in the 8700 block of Arliss Street in Silver Spring on the night of August 10.  Yesterday, public safety personnel located the bodies of two individuals within an apartment building.  Late this afternoon, personnel located a third body within an apartment building.

Police investigators have not yet identified these three victims.  The bodies been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy and possible identification.

The joint investigation between the MCPD, the Department of Fire and Rescue Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is ongoing and the possible cause/causes of this fire are still under investigation.  Search and recovery efforts will resume tomorrow morning.
