Detectives Ask for Public's Help in Locating Wanted Subject

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted subject: Dwayne Nathaniel Keymist, age 31, with a last known address in Washington, D.C.

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Keymist’s arrest, charging him with felony theft, fraud, identity theft, and credit card offenses. Investigators determined that during recent months, Keymist was responsible for breaking into multiple vehicles, many of them unlocked. The thefts from vehicles occurred in neighborhoods along Massachusetts Avenue, River Road and neighborhoods south of Bethesda to the Washington, D.C. line.  Keymist stole property, to include credit cards, from the vehicles.  He is known to have used the stolen credit cards at the Target located at 25 Grand Corner Avenue in Gaithersburg and at other stores in Prince George’s County.

Investigators obtained a surveillance photo of Keymist after he used a stolen credit card at the Target in Gaithersburg.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Dwayne Nathaniel Keymist to please call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 or to contact the 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-6726. Montgomery County Police continue to remind residents that they can reduce their chances of being a victim of theft from vehicle by removing valuables from their vehicles and locking vehicle doors.
