Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Special Victims Investigations Division are investigating a domestic-related assault that was reported today, August 31, at approximately 3:19 p.m. The incident occurred to the rear of 3015 Upton Drive in a wooded area with a path.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the 19-year-old female victim, who is several months pregnant, had agreed to meet the 18-year-old male suspect who is known to be in a relationship with her. Police can not confirm at this time if he is the father of her baby. The details leading up to her being stabbed multiple times by the suspect and his motive for the assault remain under investigation.
The victim was conscious and stabilized at the scene and transported in serious condition to an area trauma center for treatment. She was able to provide the name and description of the suspect to investigators.
The suspect, who had fled from the scene, was taken into custody by 4th District officers at approximately 4 p.m. today after he got off a bus at Palmira Lane and Dauphine Street in the Aspen Hill area.
The identity of the suspect will be released after he is charged.
