Detectives Seek Public’s Help to Identify Theft Suspects; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit continue to investigate the July 15 theft that occurred at the Sunglass Hut at Macy’s located within the Westfield Wheaton mall at 11160 Veirs Mill Road.  Today, investigators are releasing target="_blank">surveillance video of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

On July 15 at approximately 9:25 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the Sunglass Hut at Macy’s for the report of a theft that had just occurred.  The investigation revealed that the two suspects entered the Macy’s department store and went to the Sunglass Hut located inside.   The suspects stole several pairs of sunglasses by concealing them in bags.  The total value of the stolen sunglasses was approximately $1,000.  The suspects were last seen fleeing from the Macy’s department store.

Anyone with information about this theft or these suspects is asked to call the 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit at 240-773-5476.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest in this case.
