Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 2^nd District Investigative Section are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred at The Jewelry Exchange in Bethesda early this morning.

The investigation by detectives revealed that on Tuesday, September 27 at approximately 2:25 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a call for an alarm at The Jewelry Exchange located at 7747 Old Georgetown Road. 2^nd District officers arrived at the business and observed a black Mercedes Benz E350 had been backed through the front glass window of the business and was now in the store.

The engine of the Mercedes was on, the transmission was in “Reverse”, and both of the vehicle's front doors were open. Officers observed that the glass in two of the display cases in the business were broken out and that some of the displayed merchandise appeared to be missing. Investigators determined that the Mercedes had been recently stolen from an address in Prince George's County.

Video from The Jewelry Exchange revealed two suspects inside the store after the vehicle was driven through the front glass. Both suspects fled on foot after less than 30 seconds in the store. Detectives believe there may have been a third suspect waiting in a car nearby at that time.
