Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 5
th District Investigative Section continue to investigate the October 2 armed robbery of a resident that occurred in Germantown. Today, investigators are releasing surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
On Sunday, October 2 at approximately 2:07 a.m., 5
th District officers responded to the area of Great Seneca Highway and Grey Eagle Court for the report of an armed robbery. The adult male victim stated to officers that he was walking on the sidewalk of southbound Great Seneca Highway near Grey Eagle Court when the suspect approached him on foot. The suspect displayed a handgun and instructed the victim to withdraw money from the nearest bank ATM.
The victim further stated to officers that the suspect forced him to walk to the SunTrust Bank, located at 12605 Wisteria Drive and withdraw an undisclosed amount of currency from the bank’s ATM. The victim gave the suspect the money and the suspect fled from the area on foot. After the robbery, the victim walked home and called the police.
Investigators obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect from the SunTrust Bank ATM and are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect or this armed robbery to call the 5
