Detectives Investigate Domestic-Related Double Shooting in Germantown

For Immediate Release: Sunday, October 9, 2016

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department - Major Crimes Division are investigating a domestic-related double shooting that occurred this morning in Germantown.

On Sunday, October 9 at approximately 6:08 a.m., the Emergency Communication Center (ECC) received a call from a resident in the 19500 block of Frederick Road stating that he wanted his wife removed from their home.  5th District officers responded to the home and interviewed the husband and wife.  Officers determined that there had been a verbal argument and there was no physical altercation.  The female stated she would be leaving the home shortly and the officers left the residence.

Later this morning, at approximately 7:52 a.m., 5th District officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded back to that same residence after ECC received a 9-1-1 call from an adult female stating she had been shot by her husband. The victim stated that her husband shot himself as well.  Both the husband and wife were transported to area hospitals suffering from life-threatening injuries.  The weapon used was recovered on the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate this double shooting as a domestic-related event.
