Concern for Missing 68-year-old Woman with Dementia

Update: October 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. - Harriett Bell has been located safe and unharmed.  Police and family thank the public and media for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing Silver Spring woman with dementia.

Harriett Bell, age 68, was last seen by staff personnel on Saturday, October 8, at approximately 6:00 p.m., when she left the cafeteria in her Springvale Road residence.  Bell is described as an African-American female, 5’1” tall, and weighing approximately 175 pounds.  She has white hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray jacket.  Ms. Bell uses a cane to assist with her mobility, however, she does not have the cane with her.  Bell does not have access to a vehicle, however, she is familiar with public transportation.

Bell suffers from dementia and does not have her medication with her.  Police and family are concerned for her physical welfare.
