Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – 3
rd District Investigative Section are investigating a possible biased-based vandalism that occurred at a residence in Burtonsville.
On Wednesday, November 30 at approximately 6:25 a.m., 3
rd District officers responded to a home in the 3000 block of Spencerville Road for the report of a vandalism. The preliminary investigation by detectives revealed that earlier that morning, the homeowner awoke and discovered that swastikas, the word “racist”, and other derogatory words related to the homeowner’s possible political affiliation, had been spray-painted multiple times on all three of the family cars that had been parked in the driveway. Detectives believe that the homeowner’s political affiliation may be the motive for this vandalism.
