Concern For Missing Layhill Area Man

For Immediate Release: Monday, December 12, 2016

Update: 12/13/2016 at 8:44 a.m. - Carl Tubbs Jr. has been located safe and unharmed.  The Police Department thanks the public and media for sharing this missing person case.

Detectives with the 4th District Investigative Section are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing 55-year-old male.

Carl Tubbs Jr. resides in a group home located in the 14400 block of Gunstock Court in  the Layhill area of Silver Spring.  He was last seen leaving for an appointment from that location at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12.  Carl Tubbs is described as white male who is 5' 9" tall and weighs 150 pounds.  When he left the home he was wearing a gray hooded jacket, brown pants, and black boots.

Mr. Tubbs suffers from schizophrenia and dementia.  Police and family are concerned for his physical and emotional welfare.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Carl Tubbs, Jr. is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police at 301.279.8000.
